Accessibility Information

We want to ensure all our visitors can enjoy the Mosul Heritage Library. Please find details regarding physical access below:

Location and Arrival

The library is situated in an alleyway, approximately 30 metres from Faruq Street. The entrance to the library courtyard is level (no steps required) through a door that can be opened to a width of 105 cm.

There is limited car park space available on Faruq Street. It is advised that visitors come by taxi.

Entering the Library

Accessing the main library room from the courtyard requires navigating three steps of varying heights:

  • Step 1: 30 cm
  • Step 2: 16 cm
  • Step 3: 26 cm
Library Room entrance – there is a third step behind the door.

Toilet Access

Our toilet is located on the ground floor. It is a standard western-style toilet. Accessing it requires going up two steps:

  • Step 1: 22 cm
  • Step 2: 35 cm

The entrance door has a width of 55 cm, which may be too narrow for wheelchair users to access.

Step-Free Access & Assistance

While we do not currently have a ramp, we are able to assist wheelchair users wishing to enter the building. If entering the main room is not possible or preferred, we are very happy to bring books and materials out to visitors to enjoy in the courtyard area.

If you have any specific requirements ahead of your visit, please do not hesitate to contact us.
